Matthew Haies is an independent consultant focused on providing legal and privacy guidance to both online and offline technology companies. Matt’s practice draws upon the dozen years he spent in senior roles at industry-leading advertising technology companies, including Xaxis and mPlatform within GroupM, AppNexus, and Google. During that time, he built and led multiple legal departments; spearheaded worldwide cross-functional initiatives, including a two-year GDPR project; and played a substantial role in two of the most important transactions in the history of the ad tech space. In 2017, he was one of one hundred attorneys recognized as a “top general counsel” in the country. Before moving in-house, Matt was a corporate attorney at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions, securities, and corporate governance. He graduated from Duke University, cum laude, and from the New York University School of Law.
